Showcasing the University at the National Eisteddfod
The University is heading south to Pontypridd for the Rhondda Cynon Taf National Eisteddfod from Saturday 3 August until Saturday 10 August.听
The theme at this year鈥檚 Eisteddfod is to celebrate the best of 新香港六合彩开奖结果鈥檚 rich history and showcase the University鈥檚 achievements. Various activities will highlight the schools鈥 research and work.
Traditional events include the Alumni reunion on Wednesday, 7 August, and the afternoon event for prospective and current students on Friday, 9 August.
Throughout the week, our piano will be available for competitors and visitors to practice on, and children are invited to participate in a range of fun activities, including colouring tables and 新香港六合彩开奖结果 bubbles.

Saturday, 3 August:
- A 鈥楽ociology cartoon鈥 drop-in session by Dr. Rhian Hodges (School of History, Law, and Social Science
Monday, 5 August:
- Launch of the 鈥楶ostgraduate Certificate in Education 鈥 Additional Learning Needs at Primary Level,鈥 the first program of its kind in Wales.
- Panel discussion on community-led ventures by 新香港六合彩开奖结果 Business School, and 新香港六合彩开奖结果 Business School podcast launch and live recording led by Dr. Edward Jones and Darren Morley.
Tuesday, 6 August:
- Panel discussion on 鈥楾he role of culture and the arts in the community regeneration of rural Wales,鈥 led by Osian Gwynn (Pontio)
- Panel talk on 鈥楧o we live in a tolerant society?鈥 led by Dr. Gareth Evans-Jones (School of History, Law, and Social Sciences).
Wednesday, 7 August:
- Celebrating 140 years of 新香港六合彩开奖结果 with historian and businessman Gari Wyn presenting 鈥楩rom Penrhyn Port to the College on the Hill 1884-1925: The Prominent Characters.鈥
- The North Wales Medical School will host a session on 鈥楬ow to create doctors for Wales?鈥 delivered by Dr. Nia Jones and Professor Angharad Davies.
Thursday, 8 August:
- An 鈥業ntroduction to the Legal Advice Clinic鈥 session by Lois Nash and Tracey Horton (School of History, Law, and Social Sciences).
- An afternoon full of activities and demonstrations delivered by Dr. Martyn Kurr, Dr. Dei Huws, Claire Carrington, and Rhianna Parry (School of Ocean Sciences).
Friday, 9 August:
- 鈥楥elebrating 50 years of Neuadd JMJ Welsh Halls of Residence鈥 event led by Rhian Tomos (School of Education).
- An event for prospective and current students featuring Welsh band Fleur de Lys.
Professor Andrew Edwards, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Welsh Language, Civic Engagement, and Strategic Partnerships, said, 鈥
The University's presence on the Eisteddfod field, Y Maes, is one of the most notable highlights of the annual calendar, and it鈥檚 great to visit Pontypridd. The Eisteddfod provides a platform for us to offer a flavour of the richness, creativity, and range of innovative work being carried out by the University in the context of the Welsh language and bilingualism in Wales.鈥
